Encounter with the OH-Cards
Seventeen years ago, we were unknowingly standing at the threshold of something that would change us. We met the OH Cards in what appeared to be a simple introductory workshop—one largely designed to present and sell this unfamiliar deck. At that time, the cards felt expensive, almost indulgent, especially to two people who had no real understanding of what they were or what they could offer. We did not yet know that we were investing not in cards, but in a relationship.
Our first impressions were, frankly, uneasy. The images felt blunt, sometimes confronting, even frightening in their honesty. They seemed to look straight at places we were still learning to protect—tender inner landscapes that felt too exposed, too alive. Something in us resisted. And yet, something else quietly stayed awake.
Then came our first real moment with the cards. We drew a single word card: Chaos. It rested between us, simple and unmistakable. At that time, we were in the midst of putting up our centre, carrying many hopes and excitement while feeling pulled in countless directions, tired and uncertain. The card did not offer comfort or solutions; it merely reflected what was already there, the plain truth. Yet in being named, the weight felt lighter. We felt seen, and something in us opened.
From then on, the cards began to open something within us. There was a sense—not dramatic, but unmistakable—of an intuitive, almost psychic dialogue unfolding. Each time we used them, the connection deepened. The cards felt like a doorway to an ancient way of knowing, reminiscent of the oracles of old—where one did not seek answers to fix life, but wisdom to meet it more honestly. Questions became prayers. Answers arrived quietly, precisely, exactly as the heart needed in that moment.
We felt compelled to share this experience. Friends gathered. Stories emerged. Hearts softened. And as more people encountered the cards through us, requests arose—not just to use them, but to learn how to listen with them. When we were asked to teach, we surprised even ourselves by saying yes. That yes marked another crossing.
What unfolded was not simply training, but transmission. We no longer saw ourselves as “readers,” but as facilitators—holding space for others to access their own inner wisdom. Over the past sixteen years, the cards have accompanied us as companions, mirrors, and teachers. They have guided us—and countless others—toward a more intuitive way of living, one rooted in presence, honesty, and compassion.
Looking back now, we know this was never a tool we would outgrow. This is a lifelong intimacy. A way of meeting the world with open hands and listening hearts. We are deeply grateful that these cards found us when they did, because they gently—and irrevocably—steered our lives toward a path of meaning we would never exchange for another.
Dr Keane Leow and Darren Chu are the founders and guiding facilitators of ZUE Academy (Melakka, Malaysia), a space dedicated to inner inquiry, intuitive living, and holistic learning. Their work sits at the intersection of psychology, embodied awareness, and practical spirituality. With decades of experience in facilitation, teaching, and holding reflective spaces, they are best known for their long‑standing relationship with the OH Cards, which they use not as a tool for prediction, but as a medium for accessing intuition, insight, and authentic self‑understanding. Their shared journey is one of ongoing learning, awakening, and heart‑centred practice, rooted in the belief that transformation unfolds not through force, but through attention, honesty, and compassion.
